In order to learn from foreign advanced ideology of vocational education so as to enhance the level of education, WXIT continuously try to strengthen the international exchanges and cooperation with the vocational colleges from the United States, Germany, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, France and other areas. These years, WXIT recruits full-time foreign experts and teachers to give lectures to the students and teachers and also selects some backbone teachers to study or get training abroad and to develop the cooperation with some foreign colleges.

In 2003, the institute became the first affiliate member of the American Association Community Colleges for International Development (CCID).

In 2005, WXIT started the joint-education program of "International Business (Global Marketing)" with TAFE Southwestern Sydney Institute, Australia.
