Top Ten News of WXIT in 2005

1. The Education of Retaining Advanced Party Spirit in our institute was launched in 21 August, 2005. After three months of studying, it ended up with good effects and was praised by the authorities.

2. In 2005, our institute has won many prizes. Our institute gained the titles as “Advanced Group of Graduate Employment of Jiangsu Province in 2004” in April, “Civilized Campus of Jiangsu Province” in May, “Advanced Moral Education of Jiangsu Province” in October, and “National Advanced Institution of Vocational Education”.

3. In 2005, the admission situation was still exciting, and the institute has become a college with an enrollment of over 10,000.

4. The Opening Ceremony of First Culture and Art Festival of Wuxi College Students undertaken by our institute was held in the stadium in our new campus.

5. The term of administrators has run out. After careful consideration and examination, Mr. Dai Yong was appointed to be president continuously, while Mr. Yu Xuefu, Mr. Tan Xiangqun and Mr. Feng Yuan were appointed as vice-president.

6. The construction of course and teaching materials is productive. The course “Automotive Electric and Electronic Controlling Technique” was appraised as the National Perfect Course in 2004. The textbooks such as “CNC Process Programming and Practice” and “Engineering Material and Thermoforming Technique” gained the titles of Provincial Higher School Perfect Teaching Materials and the textbooks such as “Automotive Electric and Electronic Controlling Technique” and “Machinofacturing Technique” were determined as Provincial Key Constructing Teaching Materials.

7. The external and internal exchange and cooperation has upgraded to a new step. In 2005, the Sino-Australian cooperative specialty “International Business” has welcomed 55 students; Three administrators from Xinjiang Changji Institute of Technology came to our college for investigation and intercommunion.

8. Two projects has won the First Prize and the Second Prize in Jiangsu Higher Education Achievement Prizes, namely “The Research and Practice on the Reforming and Constructing of Cultivation Standards and Course System for the High Vocational Electromechanical Talents” and “The Research and Practice on the Reforming of Course System, Cultivation Program and Teaching Contents for the High Vocational Electromechanical Talents”.

9. In summer vacation, our institute has provided the teachers with the training of applied technology and engineering. In July, 23 qualified teachers were chose to go to Hong Kong University of Science and Engineering for two-week training.

10. The students in our institute actively responded to the call of our country. The three students Xie Yichao, Zheng Haiyu and Diao Jiehua took part in the plan of developing the west and the north of Jiangsu, and Sun Lin and the other eight students joined the army.
