Department of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering runs three specialties: the application of CNC technology, mechatronical technology, refrigeration and air conditioning technology, plus a research institute of robotics. The department has a responsible and ambitious faculty, over half of them own senior titles of technical post, or master degree, which lead to high teaching level. Due to the research in high-tech fields, it is supported by the college with advanced teaching equipments. The application of CNC technology is a nation demonstrational specialty, cultivating high-level engineering talents for the utility, maintenance, and repairing of CNC equipments. Mechatronical technology aims at cultivating high-level engineering talents for the manufacturing, management, maintenance, and operation of mechatronical equipments. The specialty also set up dual program: Mechatronical technology & Japanese, serving for Japanese enterprises. Refrigeration and air conditioning technology aims at cultivating high-level engineering application talents for installation, running management of refrigerating equipments and central air conditioning systems as well as repairing of domestic air conditioning equipments.
　　The structure of specialties meets with the need of relevant trades and economy in Jiangsu. The goal of teaching is definite and rational. The college holds a high ratio of employment, and enjoys a good reputation from enterprises for the graduates’ important role. Research institute of robotics undertakes the task of developing intellectual robots and advanced robot teaching tools. It has taken part in the Nation robot competition for three times, and has made great achievements.
