The Machine-building Department has specialities of machine-building design, manufacturing and automation, material moulding and control technology, die set design and manufacturing, automobile technology application and service, automobile testing and maintenance, automobile refit technology, etc. Among the specialities, machine-building design manufacturing and automation is the pillar speciality of mechanical disciplines of the institute;

material moulding and control technology, die set design and manufacturing are the characteristic specialities of the institute; automobile technology application and service is an important speciality of national level. There have been more than 6,000 graduates since 1990 who are well received by the society. The once only employment rate reaches more than 95%. 　　The department has forty-two full-time teachers, among whom six are associate professors. It owns modernized practice teaching base, mechanical real-training center, automobile technology center to combine theoretical teaching, practice teaching, science research, production and service into one. It possesses flexible manufacturing system for computer control while reflects current advanced manufacturing technology. 　　With gradual perfection of specialities and employment development of graduates, Machine-building Department finds favour in examinees’ eyes. So the number of new students enrolled has been increasing year by year. Now the department has more than 2,000 students.
